Your garden, explained

How do we connect?

Sign in with your own email on each phone. In Us, create an invitation and share it with your person. They open the link on their phone and choose Join garden. An invitation works once and expires after seven days. Each account can belong to one garden with one other person.

Where is my sign-in email?

Check spam and make sure the address is correct. A full mailbox cannot receive it. Open the newest link on the phone with the app installed; it expires after 15 minutes and works once. If you see a countdown, wait before requesting another link. A delivery notice may arrive later even after the link has expired.

Can we both send a word?

Yes. Each person can send one word per day. Add its meaning and, optionally, an example. You have 60 seconds to undo. After that the word is delivered and the send button is hidden for the day. Today shows the word you received; your sent words are in Words.

When does a new day start?

At midnight in your garden’s shared time zone, shown in Us. This keeps the daily limit the same for both people, even when you are in different time zones.

How do I see the meaning?

Tap the word in Today. The letters change into its meaning. Tap again to return to the word. Your previous words are collected in Words.

How do notifications work?

Enable Notifications in Us on a real phone to receive new words and little thoughts. Words also arrive in the app when notifications are off. If the phone has blocked permission, choose Open phone settings. Notifications announce new words and little thoughts; the word itself is not included in the notification. You can turn them off in Us. Permission alone does not mean the phone has finished registering for notifications.

What does React to tilt do?

With your permission, the garden responds when you gently tilt your phone. Turning this off keeps the regular cloud and garden animation running. The app also respects your phone’s Reduce Motion setting.

My person is away or the garden is reconnecting.

Your words are stored on the server. Both people can send and receive them without being online together. The shared animation reconnects when the app has a working network connection. If your session has expired, sign in again using a new email link.

What happens if I disconnect or delete my account?

Disconnecting removes the shared garden and its words for both people. Deleting your account also removes your account and active sessions. Both actions ask for confirmation. Signing out only ends your session on this phone and leaves the shared garden in place. You can also request account deletion using our email-confirmed deletion page.
